- Jane passed away suddenly at Intermountain Medical Center on May 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 26, 1942 to H. Terry Oakes and Ellen Giauque in Phoenix, Arizona, where she lived for one year before moving to Riverside, California spending a childhood filled with memories of orange groves and fun times with her family. She moved to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education. She was married in Logan, Utah in the Logan Temple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings most recently as a service missionary at the Church Office Building. Jane also served many years and countless hours as a temple ordinance worker at the Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah.
Jane dedicated her life to educating young minds around the globe teaching in Provo, Utah; Riverside, California and Apia, Samoa. She spent the majority of her career as a beloved teacher at Alpine Elementary School where she dedicated 27 years before her retirement in 2010. She often spoke of her students and loved chance encounters with them and hearing of their successes. Jane also loved to cook meals for her family and loved to host Sunday dinners at her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents H. Terry Oakes and Ellen Giaugue, her sister Dorrene and grandson Jacob Boulter.
She is survived by her brother, A. Terry Oakes; sister, Judy Bell; son, Brent Boulter and his wife Cindy; son, Brian Boulter and his wife Stephanie; granddaughters Meagan and Madison; grandsons Tyler and Ethan and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Cedar Hills 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 9737 Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah, and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday morning at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Alpine City Cemetery.
