- Rev Owen (Son) Combs, Sr., Sanderson, died Saturday in a Jacksonville hospital after a brief illness.
A native and life long resident of Baker County, he was retired superintendent of the Baker County Road Department, a member of Macclenny Church of God, and an ordained Church of God.
Surviving: his wife, Mrs. Myrtie Johns Combs, Sanderson; five daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Howard, Tallahassee, Mrs. Martha Staier, Mrs. Mattie Norman, Mrs. Mary Tarte, all of Sanderson, Mrs. Evelyn Wilkerson, Macclenny, a son, Owen Combs, Jr., Sanderson; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Stokes, and Mrs. Katie Dugger, Macclenny; 2 brothers, Harley Combs, Jacksonville, Lee Combs, Sanderson, 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services Tuesday 2:30 P.M. Macclenny Church of God, Rev. Lawton Thomas, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Jimmie Dobbs, Paxon Revival Center, Jacksonville, and Rev. George Stafford, Macclenny Revival Center.
Interment in South Prong Cemetery.
