Billy Leroy Raulerson, age 78 of Macclenny, Florida passed away on October 12, 2015 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in Macclenny, Florida. Leroy was born May 14, 1937 in Baker County, Florida to the late Wade Raulerson, Sr. and Viola Yarborough Raulerson.
Leroy was a lifelong resident of Baker County and graduated from Baker County High school in 1957. He retired from Lawtey Correctional Institute after 29 years as a Major Correctional Officer, retiring at age 55.
Leroy enjoyed all facets of car racing. He also taught fire arm training. He was an avid hunter of bear and deer however, turkey hunting was his passion. He was famously known for Leroy's Vineyard where he produced homemade wine.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, William Terry Raulerson; and grandson, Casey Allison Prevatt. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marilyn Barton Raulerson of Glen St. Mary, FL; his daughter, Debra Raulerson Gnann of Glen St. Mary, FL; daughter-in-law, Dana (Burfort) Thrift of St. George, GA; brothers, David (Ruth) Raulerson of Jacksonville, FL and Wade (Paula) Raulerson of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Francis Kinghorn of Jacksonville, FL and Cherry Kiser of Charlton, SC; grandchildren, Kallie Alexis Raulerson, William Ruger Raulerson, Dixie Leigh Raulerson all of Glen St. Mary, FL; granddaughter-in-law, Delinah Prevatt; great grandchildren, Parker Allison Prevatt and Cole Ryder Prevatt both of Glen St. Mary, FL.
A Celebration of Leroy's Life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Ray McKendree officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063
