Notes |
- David Burson fought in the Cherokee Indian War in Georgia, and the Seminole Wars in Florida. He married Celia Ann McInish on January 30, 1832, in what was then Campbell County, GA. That county no longer exists. It was folded into Fulton County in 1926 and 1932. He and Annie moved over into Alabama, to the area that became Cherokee County. Several of the kids were born there, in cluding their first-born, William Jonathan Burson. By around 1853, they moved further south in Alabama, to Tallapoosa County. Elmore County was formed in 1866, and David ended up owning land in both Tallapoosa and Elmore Counties, on both sides of the river, which was the county line.
