- Linda Everett Newman was born on January 9, 1949 to Charlie and Alice Everett.
She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School in 1967 and worked in the QA department at BF Goodrich for 32 years before retiring in 2010.
Linda was an avid Alabama football fan and always talked about growing up and watching it on the TV with her dad. Saturdays in the fall were spent watching Bama play whether it be in the stadium, her home, or at the campground.
Camping, traveling, and baking were a few more of her favorite things to do. They brought her so much joy. She loved the peace and quiet of camping but also loved to get out and explore the world around her. Whether it be by land, air, or sea, she soaked it all in. She traveled to the sandy shores of Florida and the carribean, to the mountains of the Smokies, out west to the great plains, and to the big cities of Chicago, Illinois and Tokyo, Japan. She definitely left her mark, just as she did with her baking. She enjoyed working in the kitchen and teaching her granddaughter how to bake. She loved to try new desserts to take to church fellowship and family functions. Her whole goal with her baking was to make people happy. She was 100% successful. Her talents in baking will truly be missed. Linda passed away on May 16, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Alice Everett, and her husband, Tony Newman.
Survivors include her daughters: Marsha (Ron) and Kristy (Scott), her grandchildren: Kayleigh Edge, Kolton Sloan, and Dalton Sloan. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Marie Rice, Retha Griffin, Charles (Bill) Everett, David Everett, Darlene Lancaster, and Robert (Bobby) Everett. Linda has several nieces and nephews that she is survived by that she loved dearly.
