- Alice Crews Walker, 92 (b. 21 Feb 1883) of Route 3, Folkston, passed away Sunday evening (12 Oct 1975) in the Medical Arts Center in Brunswick following a long illness.
A native of the area that is now Brantley County, she had lived in Charlton County a number of years.
She was a daughter of the late Riley Crews and Mary Cason Crews and the widow of John W. Walker.
She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church .
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Strickland of Blackshear and Mrs. Wade Walker of Hoboken; five sons, Allen Walker of Folkston, Riley Walker, Johnny Walker, and Arch Walker, all of Nahunta, and Nelvie Walker of Waycross; 30 grandchildren; 29 grand-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. The pastor, Elder Leonard Dryden, officiated.
Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Clough-Pearson Funeral home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
