	Florence Dixon, 83, died Wednesday, September 17, 1997, at Windsor Manor in Starke following a long illness. Coming from Lawtey, she had lived in Florahome from 1959 to 1994 before moving to Starke. She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly where she served as deaconess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Dixon; stepdaughter, Dorothy Griffis; stepsons, William H. Dixon, John B. Dixon and Jack F. Dixon. She is survived by daughters, Phebe Lynn of Gainesville, Oneta Beville of High Springs, and Esther D. Thomas of Green Cove Springs; sons, Paul A. Dixon of Orlando, J.C. Dixon of Florahome, Sherman Lee Dixon of Jacksonville, and Simon Dixon of Florahome; sisters, Ellen Butler of Tampa; 33 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Masters Funeral Home of Palatka with the Rev. Thelma Hensley and the Rev. Keith Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in the Etoniah Cemetery, Barton. Palatka Daily News, September 19, 1997.
