- Mr. James W. "Jake" Cason of Willis ton, Fla. passed away November 28, 2014 while hunting with his family, he was 71.
Born at Ft. White, Florida he came to Williston in 1971 from Ocala, Fla. He was a member of the Morriston Baptist Church where he was very active and served as a deacon there. He was a former deacon at the First Baptist church in Williston. He was a Business System Technician for Sprint Telephone Company and was employed there for 39 years. He served the City of Williston as a councilman for 14 yrs and during this time served on the planning and zoning board. He was past president of C.W.A. Local Union #3176, was past president of the Magee Branch Hunting Club. Member of Florida State Fox Hunters Assoc. Jake was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors but his top priority was family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors: Wife: Marion Cason; 2 sons: Jim and wife Trina Cason and Jason and wife Hallie Cason. 2 brothers: Wyles and wife Becky Cason and Lawrence Cason. 3 sisters: Dorothy Ramos, Zeke Roberts and Kate and husband Bert Alexander. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by: Parents: Carl and Wilma Cason; 1 daughter: Suzanne Cason; 6 brothers: Buddy, Noah, Earl, Robert, Paul and Johnny Cason. 1 Sister: Marie Dorsey.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Dec. 2, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at the Morriston Baptist Church with Brother Keith Stewart officiating. Visitation was Monday, Dec 1. Burial will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home-Williston. In lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to Morriston Baptist Church Bldg. Fund. 3141 S.E. Hwy 41, Morriston, FL 32668.
