- James Wiley "Junior" Scruggs, Jr., age 65, died Saturday, April 9, 1994 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Monday, April 11 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Houston Cemetery with the Rev. Al Gaspard officiating. Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The son of the late James Wiley Scruggs, Sr. and the late Carrie Mae Kelly Scruggs, he was born in Iuka. He was a retired sign maker and was a member of Markett Baptist Church in Moody,AL. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Thompson Scruggs of Houston; one daughter, Debbie Tollison of Hernando; two sisters, Al Anglin and Natlie Berry, both of Houston; one brother Thomas Hercul Scruggs of Raymond and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Gregg Pepper, E. C. Carson, Todd Phillips, Rickey Rowe, Tommy Berry and Wade Mitchell.
