- Mr. Wayne D. Boyette, 79, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 20, 2014 at the Baya Pointe Rehab and Nursing Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Zolfo Springs, Florida on November 27, 1934 to the late William Edward Boyette and Rozella Pearson Boyette. He was a self-employed entrepreneur for many years until ill health forced him to retire. He was a longtime resident of Lake City, who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church Deep Creek Ward. In his spare time he loved to fly his airplane; he also loved to fix up old tractors.
He is preceded in death by his daughter: Cynthia "Cindy" Boyette and brother: James Boyette.
He is survived by his loving wife: Billye DePratter Boyette of Lake City; sons: Greg Boyette and Bryan Boyette both of Lake City and Nelson Boyette of Chicago, IL; daughter: Roxeanna Rozella Ris of Melbourne, FL and brother: Huey Boyette of Lake City. Six loving grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Boyette will be conducted on Friday October 24, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Deep Creek Ward (Old Country Club Road) with Bishop John Luthi conducting with Elder Rodney Nettles and John Jay Nettles assisting. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Union County.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 (one hour prior to the services) at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90 Lake City, FL 32055.
