- Rev. Frank S. Cason, 76, of Jesup died Oct. 21, 2005, after an extended illness. The Pierce County native had lived in Wayne County the past 47 years. He was a retired Baptist minister, a U.S. Marine veteran, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Ritch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Geneva Dennison Cason of Jesup; a daughter, Carolyn Cason of Jesup; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Kimberly Cason of Jesup and Travis and Cathy Cason of Hazlehurst; two brothers, Randall Cason and Lewis Cason, both of Offerman; three sisters, Sarah Bell Neilson of Offerman, Mary Miller of Keystone Heights, Fla., and Bertie Mae Miller of Orange Park, Fla.; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24, 2005, from Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Charles Manning and the Rev. Wayne Manning officiating.
Interment was in Ritch Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Hadley Cason, Josh Cason, Kevin Wolfe, Paul Cason, Tyler Cason, Joe Hawkins Jr. and Joe Hawkins Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. William Headley, Dr. Robert A. Pumpelly IV, Carl Wolfe, Max Linder, Ashley Dukes, Hubert Joyner and the Adult Men?s Sunday School Class of Ritch Baptist Church.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
