Deceased Name: John Randle Cason
OFFERMAN- John Randle Cason, 89, passed away Thursday afternoon (Oct. 1, 2009) at his residence following a lengthy illness.
A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, he worked as a carpenter and farmer all of his life.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a son of the late John Manuel and Mary Arelia Clark Cason. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Boyette Cason, his second wife, Evelyn Barnes Cason, three sons, Raymond Cecil Cason, Joe Barnes and Jamie Barnes, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include six daughters and four sons-in-law, Sandra Davis, of Hortense, Linda Brinkley, of Jesup, Peggy and Melvin Dover, of Screven, Margaret and Clint Bargeron, of Blackshear, Gloria and Terry Rapier, of Maryville, Tenn., and Anita and Joe Gardner, of Jesup; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Marlene Cason, of Patterson, John H. and Margie Cason, of Blackshear, and Rusty and Gail Barnes and Bill and Tina Barnes, all of Jesup; two daughters-in-law, Mary Alice Westberry Cason, of Patterson, and Karen Clark Barnes, of Jesup; two sisters and a brother-inlaw, Mary Miller, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Berti Mae and Nicky Miller, of Callahan, Fla.; a brother, Lewis Cason, of Patterson; 39 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, two great-greatgrandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
