  	EDWARD FRANKLIN NEWTON: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Bladen Journal (Elizabethtown, NC) - Friday, February 21, 2003 Deceased Name: EDWARD FRANKLIN NEWTON WILMINGTON - Edward Franklin Newton, 80, formerly of Pender County, died Sunday, February 16, at his residence. Mr. Newton was born February 1, 1923, in Pender County. He was the son of the late James C. and Kataie Caison Newton. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Anita Quick. He was a member of Moore's Creek Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He was Navy veteran of World War II. The funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 a. m. at Moore's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Eakins officiating. Burial was in Newton Family Cemetery. Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Cynthia M. Newton; two daughters, Catherine Minard of Greenville and Gina Herring of Burgaw; a stepson, Steven Ingram of Orange Park, Fl.; a brother, James C. "Neal" Newton of Burgaw; two sisters, Irene Normann of White Lake, Bettie Rivenbark of Wallace, and Emily Harris of Whiteville; and six grandchildren, Leslie Minard, Casey Minard, Nicholas Herring, Kimberly Herring, Kara Ward, and Devon Ingram.
