Deceased Name: Alice Caison Phelps
Alice Caison Phelps, Alice Caison Phelps of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
She was born April 9, 1933, in Pender County, NC, daughter of the late Archie L. and Agnes Blake Caison.
Mrs. Phelps was a member of United Advent Christian Church where she was currently serving as the secretary and treasurer for the Sunday School. She also served as the church treasurer for many years, was a former president of the WHFMS, and was a Sunday School teacher.
Mrs. Phelps retired from Bank of America following 44 years of service.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Dan Phelps of the home; two children, Danny Phelps and wife Cheryl of Columbia, SC, and Kim Blackmon and husband Wayne of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon Blackmon, Aaron Blackmon and Chandler Phelps; four brothers and sisters, Arnold Caison of Wallace, NC, Annette Williamson of Burgaw, NC, Faye Howard of Wilmington, NC, and Ray Caison of Burgaw, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2002, at United Advent Christian Church by Rev. Adrian Shepard.
Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, 1406 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401 or to the WHFMS of United Advent Christian Church, 4912 South College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412.
