	Vivian Cason Carpenter, 86, died July 5, 2000 in the Lake City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Carpenter moved to Lake City from Jacksonville six years ago. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Florida State College for Women (FSU) and her Master's Degree from George Washington University, Washington D.C. Mrs. Carpenter retired from the Duval County School System in 1978, following 39 years of service. She served in the WAVES during World War II, was a member of the ADR Sorority and of the Arlington Baptist Church. Mrs. Carpenter was predeceased by her husband, George. Survivors include five nieces and nephew-in-laws, seven nephews, numerous great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Hardage & Sons Funeral Home, Jacksonville, is in charge of arrangements. Private interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. source: FindAGrave
