  	David Tally Columbus--David Kenneth Taylor Tally, 64, of Columbus, N.C. died Aug.12, 1989, in St. Luke's Hospital in Columbus. A native of Fayetteville, N.C., he was the husband of Dorothy Spears Tally and the son of the late Joseph Oscar and Mary Emeline Taylor Tally. He graduated from Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, N.C., and Duke University in Durham. He served in the Navy in World War II. He was director of Secondary Education in the Fairfax, Va., and Greensboro, N.C., public school system. He retired and moved to North Carolina in 1988. He was a member of Tryon Presbyterian Church. Also surviving are two sons, Ted Tally of New York City and Taylor Taylor of Clayton, Del.; one daughter, Susan T, Leonard of Tryon; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at McPherson Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Memorials may be made to the local unit of the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4, Tryon, N.C. 28782. Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Fayetteville.
