- Elois "Punk" Milne, 90, of East Palatka went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Milne was born and raised in Jacksonville and, coming from Ocala, had been a longtime resident of Putnam County, having lived in Palatka and later in East Palatka. She attended Jacksonville schools and was a 1944 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. In 1989 she retired from banking, capping a 38 year career with Sun Trust Bank in Ocala and a total of 44 years in the banking profession.
She was a member of Palatka Baptist Temple and had served as a volunteer at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka. She enjoyed being around family and other children besides her two. She also raised other children in the family. She was known for her sour cream pound cake.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald Milne; a sister, Elizabeth Lenehan; and a brother, Malcolm Carmichael.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Barber of East Palatka; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Diane Milne of Ocala; a nephew that she raised, James Carmichael of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Kris Barber, Kim Barber, Sarah Barber, Stephanie Milne and Matthew Milne; and nine great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the family residence 225 Moritani Point Road, East Palatka, FL 32131.
