Mr. Summers was born on August 4, 1936 in Lulu, Florida to Fred J. and Bertie Mae Lee Summers. He attended school in Mason City and Fort White. He married Patsy Bagley in 1953, they were married for 64 years, 5 months, and 6 days. He worked as a surveyor for Bennett Wattles & Associates. Later Charles retired from L.L. Lee/Donald Lee & Associates and dedicated the remainder of his life to fishing and family.
Mr. Summers is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertie Mae Summers; brother and sister, Robert and Joyce Summers; son, Brett Leslie Summers; and grandson, Joseph Leslie Sumerlin.

The viewing for Mr. Summers will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Lake City, Florida. His funeral will be Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 909 SE Country Club Road, Lake City, FL. The Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 10888 NW 87th Place, Lake Butler, FL.
