Gibbs BRUNSWICK -- Charles Rodney Gibbs, 53, died March 27 at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wayne County and lived in Hinesville before moving to Glynn County 41 years ago. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy High School and owner and operator of Captain Joe's Seafood Restaurants and co-owner of Mud Cat Charlie's Restaurant and Two Way Fish Camp. He was a member of River Rats, Ba-Ha Club and Brunswick Elks Lodge No. 691. He was an Army veteran who served in Korea. SURVIVORS: a son, Billy Gibbs of Brunswick; two daughters, Ginny G. O'Quinn and Kelli Gibbs, both of Brunswick; his mother, Sallie Sapp Gibbs of Brunswick; two brothers, Mike Gibbs and Greg Gibbs, both of Brunswick; two sisters, Madelyn G. Sikes and Suzanne G. Copeland, both of Brunswick; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at College Place United Methodist Church, burial in Palmetto Cemetery.
