U.S. Veteran Mr. Jessie Bryant “JB” Callahan, 72, of Lulu, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley following an extended illness. A native of Columbia County, Mr. Callahan was the son of the late Phillip and Lizzie Johnson and Mack Callahan. He was a man of many trades and had a passion for deer hunting. Mr. Callahan loved working in his yard and attending the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church. Mr. Callahan was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He will forever be remembered as a man who dearly loved his family. Mr. Callahan was preceded in death by an infant son, Bryant Callahan and infant great-grandchild, Hunter Lane Proveaux.
Mr. Callahan is survived by his loving wife, Jean Callahan; his three daughters, Renee (Nevin) Markham of Lulu, Florida; Brenda (Randy) Henderson of Lake City, Florida; and Michelle (Billy) Geiger of Lake City, Florida; a sister, Diane Ratliff and a brother, Bobby (Barbara) Callahan both of Lake City, Florida. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved, also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Callahan will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel of the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 Sunday afternoon.
