- William Larry Wilkes, 57, of Ailey died Sunday, February 20, 2011.
Mr. Wilkes was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Otis Wilkes, Sr., and Ruby Gillis Wilkes, and a brother, Bill Wilkes. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Mt. Vernon.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Hinton Wilkes, sons, Larry Aaron (Ann) Wilkes, Jody Everett Wilkes, Justin Andrew Wilkes, all of Ailey; grandchildren, Luke Michael Wilkes, Logan Chaz Wilkes, Emily Alexis Wilkes, Laci Aaron Wilkes, all of Ailey, Hunter Dawson Wilkes, Vidalia; sister, Linda Mitchell, Stockbridge; brothers, Lee Wilkes, Bonaire, Charles Wilkes, Soperton, and Aaron Wilkes, Columbus.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 23. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery, Montgomery County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
