    • Ernest Wilbur Williams

      Mr. Ernest Wilbur Williams, age 87, of Wellborn, Florida died Wednesday, August 5, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla. following a brief illness. He has resided in Columbia County all of his life, the past 50 years in the Wellborn area of Columbia County. He had worked as a cable repairman with Southern Bell Telephone for 38 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Lake City and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and an Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias Murray Williams and Sarah Nellie Peeler Williams, and a brother, Robert Fred Williams. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alfreda Williams of Wellborn, Fla.: Two sons, Donny (Sandi) Williams and Hal (Penny) Williams both of Lake City, Fla.: One sister, Mary Alice McGhin of Waycross, Ga.: One brother, Homer M. Williams of Bethlehem, Ga.: Five grandchildren, Tonya Baker, Travis Williams, Tara Hollingsworth, Masi Williams and Candi Williams: Six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11A.M. Saturday, August 8, in the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Louie Mabry, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Godbold-Williams Cemetery, Suwannee County, Fla. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Friday, August 7, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla Please consider memorials to the Building Fund, W.M. United Methodist Church, 1272 S.W. McFarlane Avenue, Lake City, Fla. 32024
