"CHARLES SMITH BLYTHEWOOD - Funeral service for Mr. Charles Monroe Smith, 62, will be held 10 o`clock Saturday morning, June 11, 2005, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with The Reverend Karen H. Radcliffe officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o`clock this (FRIDAY) evening in Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to South Carolina Center, Nine Richland Medical Park, Suite 600, Columbia, SC 29203. Mr. Smith died Wednesday, June 8, 2005. Born in Jasper, Florida, he was the son of Lonnie Mae Robinson Smith and the late Reever A. Smith. SSG Smith, US Army (Ret.) served his country for 20 years and received the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. For the past 20 years, he was employed with First Citizens Bank. Survivors include his mother of Blythewood; his wife of almost 40 years, Patricia A. Smith of Blythewood; children, Michael A. Smith, James E. Smith, Tamara L. Crawford, and Samantha L.S. Smith; six grandchildren, Michaela, Levi, Sierra, Shawn, Victoria, and Mitchell; his brother, George E. Smith of Texas. www.shivesfuneralhome.com (803) 754-6290 "
