    • From FootPrints Vol. 4, No. 3:
      Granville M. Wilbourn was born about 1842 (age 21 in 1862) in Marion Co., IL and died of wounds in a hospital at Resaca, GA 23 May 1864. He enlisted at Centralia, IL 15 Aug 1862 and was mustered in at Salem, IL 18 Sept 1862. He served as Pvt. in Co. G, 111th IL Vol. Inf. Regt. His company was engaged in the Atlanta campaign from May through September of 1864 and he was wounded 14 May 1864 during the Battle of Resaca.

      pg 133 62nd Infantry, Muster Roll Co. E: Wilburn, R. G. vet mustered out 3 June 1866.
      pg 138: 111th Illinois Infantry, Muster Coll Co. G: Wilburn, Granville died at Resaca 5/24/1864, wounded.
