- Frances Eleanor Wilkes Fuller was born in Society Hill, South Carolina on December 7, 1931, and died in her daughter’s arms on January 5, 2024. She was the 7th of 10 children born to her parents, Clarence Earl Wilkes and Elma Freeman. She attended the local schools until she came to Utah in 1949 at age 17.
She quickly found work that she enjoyed, which she was thankful for. She attended Weber State College and then worked at Hill Air Force Base for 27 years before retiring. She married and had 5 children - Lynne Bexell (Terry), David Burrell (Rebecca), Judy Young (Robert), Debbie Ryan (Rick), and Wayne Burrell (Rachelle). She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and always made sure her tithing was paid. She was so proud of the fact that long before they were her grandparents, both sets of her grandparents joined the Church at the same time and began the first branch in Society Hill, SC.
On May 29, 1981, she was sealed to Otis Kay Fuller in the Ogden Utah Temple and gained 3 more children - Greg Fuller (Donna), Pam Murray (Robert), and Jeffrey Fuller. She and Kay served a mission from 1997-1999, in the California San Jose Mission. She had lived and raised her family in Roy and after marrying Kay, they lived in Ogden, North Ogden, and St. George.
After the passing of her cherished husband, she moved back to North Ogden in 2012. She had 36 grandchildren, 123 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kay, Jeffrey Fuller (son), Debbie Ryan (daughter), Keilie Burrell (granddaughter) and Caden Dirks (great-grandson).
Mom was happy to recognize at the end of her life that she had always tried to live her life using correct principles. She was known for always keeping busy and being productive. She enjoyed her family and was so proud of them and because of that, she felt that she lived a very blessed life. Mom and Dad (Kay) were wonderful cooks and loved preparing food for their family which made us feel so loved! We all are missing our annual fruitcake! Love you Mom!
The family wishes to thank the staff at Quail Meadow Assisted Living and Applegate Hospice for their exceptional loving care of Fran.
Services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior 10:30-11:00 a.m., at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Interment will be at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E. 2850 N., No. Ogden, Utah.
