A native of Lake City, Mr. Hunter was a long-time resident of Marion County and was retired from the HRS Division of Youth Services. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva L. Hunter, Ocala; two sons, James R. Hunter, Pleasant Plain, Ohio and Charles R. Hunter, Tampa; four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude E. Godwin, Kilgore, Tex., Linna Wilkerson, Flagler Beach, Mrs. Ruth Ann Talsky, Ocala, and Mrs. Patsy Pasteur, Wilmington, N. C.; Three brothers, Robert Hunter, Yulee, Coy Hunter, Reliance, Tenn., and Michael Hunter, Ocala; six sisters, Mrs. Belle Eddy, Williston, Mrs. Lucy Heirs, Jacksonville, Mrs. Gladys Rogers, Tampa, Mrs. Shirley Callahan and Mrs. Carolyn Rankin, both of Ocala, and Clara Allen, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and 14 grandchildren.
