- James Wilkes and the Family reunion

James Wiley Wilkes is credited with starting the Wilkes Family reunion on July 4. It started at his farm,and quickly grew too large. He started hosting this reunion at White Rock Baptist Church, near Spring Hill, AL. (This church did not have plumbing until the 1970's. Remains of the old " 2 seater"out house are still evident!)
The tradition of making a large caldron of Camp Stew and roasting pork are still carried out. Now, the reunion has been moved to Byron Wilkes Cabin, near Goshen Alabama (Pike county). If you attend, bring something good to eat and be prepared to share family stories!!
