Ms. Mildred Hines Carter, 94, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Forest and Mattie Waldron Hines. She had lived all her life in Lake City, FL; she was preceded in death by her husband Odell Carter, one daughter Carolyn Browning and sons Melvin and Earl Carter one brother and two sisters. She enjoyed her flowers, cooking, and reading her bible and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four sons Helton (Porky) Carter, Lake City, FL; Gene Carter, Ocala, FL; Gerald (PieJoe) Carter, Winter Haven, FL; Mike Carter, Ocala, FL; six daughters DeLena C. Widener, North Carolina; Charlotte C. Baldwin, Lake City, FL; Annette Spradley, Lake City, FL; Alice C. Kinsey, Bell, FL; Cindy Carter, Lake City, FL; Evelyn Thomas, Lake City, FL; thirty-five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mildred Carter will be conducted at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 20, 2015. With Reverend Mark Spradley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 19, 2015. From 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
