Mr. Jerry Dwayne Murray, 50, of Wellborn, Florida, passed away Wednesday afternoon in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Suwannee County, Mr. Murray was the son of the late Leonard and Barbara “Bobbie” Howell Murray. He had worked as a truck driver for many years until his recent ill health. Mr. Murray was an avid Florida Gator fan, he loved NASCAR and was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He attended The Vineyard church. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bobbie Murray; his brother, Timmy Murray, his sister, Melinda Murray Johnson; his niece, Anissa Sapp and his nephew, Levy “Trey” Sapp III.
Mr. Murray is survived by his brothers, Danny Murray (Susan) of Fort White, Florida; Jason Murray (Ree) of Lake City; three aunts, Julia Travis of Lake City; Linda Musgrove and Pat (Walter) Gaylord both of Wellborn, Florida. His nieces and nephews, Robbie Murray (Rebecca), Brad Murray, Kellyn Murray, Miranda Johnson, Meghan Johnson and Hollyn Murray also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Murray will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Hammock and Rev. Rick McCall officiating. Private family interment services will be held later. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 Friday evening in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home for disbursement to various charities.
