  	Ira Conrade Harris, 69 (b. 21 Aug 1906), of the Hickox Community passed away Tuesday night (18 Nov 1975) at Memorial Hospital in Waycross following a lengthy illness. He was born in Wayne County in the area that is now Brantley County and was a lifelong resident. He was a son of the late Noah Thomas Harris and Clifford Amanda Highsmith Harris. He received his education in the public school system of the county and was a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machine operator by the Brantley County Road Department for many years. Survivors are his wife, Mary Jane Wainright Harris of Hickox; one daughter Sandra Hickox of Folkston; one son, James Harris of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Maude Cleland, Solena Steedley and Dorothy Mae Steedley, all of Nahunta; one brother, William Brantley "Bill" Harris of Nahunta; three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. , Nov. 20, from the chapel of Chambless Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie J. Dixon officiating, assisted by Rev. Reginald Herrin. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery near Waycross. Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
