    Ken Drupiewski, 90, died Thursday (Sept. 4, 2014) at his home in Winter Park, Fla., surrounded by his family.

    He was born April 1, 1923 in Sacramento, Calif., and was a veteran of World War II.

    He was stationed at the U.S. Army Air Base in Waycross where he met and married Montine Cason. He remained in Waycross for a number of years, owning and operating a business and taking an increasingly active role in the Boy Scouts of America.

    He then moved with his growing family to Douglas to assume the official status with the Boy Scouts as their field scout executive for the area.

    A few years later he was promoted to Chief Scout Executive in Asheville, N.C.

    He transferred to Orlando, Fla. in 1969 to become the Scout Executive of the Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America where he later retired after 38 years of service.

    He was an active member of Aloma United Methodist Church where he was a faithful Sunday School teacher and leader of many ministries, including serving as finance chairman.

    He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Montine Cason Drupiewski, of Waycross; five children, Kenneth Drupiewski (Lieu), of Winter Park, Fla., Rose Porterfield (Jim), of Atlanta, Donna Sherrill (Bob), of Leesburg, Fla., Rebecca Lorenzana (Alex), of Winter Park, Fla., and Joe Drupiewski (Pepper), of Pueblo, Colo.; his brother, Jerome Drupiewski, of Pueblo, Colo.; his sister-in-law, Carol Jean Cason (George) Farr; and nephews, Remley Farr, George Farr Jr. and Harbin Farr, all of Waycross; and numerous nieces and other nephews.

    Acelebration of life service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Aloma Methodist Church.

    In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Boy Scouts of America or the Billy Graham Association.
