Deceased Name: Claude McCrary 87, longtime resident of St. Simons Island and Brunswick, entered into glory Tuesday evening (Oct. 20, 2009) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
He was born in Pearson to the late Claude McCrary Sr. and Mattie Kight McCrary. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Robbie Futch.
Survivors include his wife, Elouise Sweat McCrary, of Brunswick; two daughters, Ruth E. Vaughan, ofAlpharetta, and Penny Lee Fithian, of Cartersville; one son, Daniel Claude McCrary, of Townsend; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Sara Hathcock, of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Agraveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kettle Creek Cemetery, Waycross.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Kettle Creek Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.americanheart. org Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elouise McCrary, 92, died Tuesday morning (April 21, 2020) at Crab Apple Hall in Alpharetta, GA after an extended illness.
She was a native of Waycross, but she lived most of her life on St. Simon’s Island where she worked in floral design for a florist. Mrs. McCrary was a member of First Baptist Church St. Simon’s Island.
Mrs. McCrary was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Edward Sweat and Kathleen Hortense Sweat; her husband, Claude McCrary, Jr.; and one brother, Dan Sweat, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Daniel Claude McCrary of Riceboro, GA; two daughters, Ruth E. Vaughan of Cumming, GA, and Penny L. Fithian of Cartersville, GA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Strickland of Huntsville, AL, Merle Kimbrell of Douglas, Ruth Lopez of High Springs, FL and Vivian Ragen of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will take place at Kettle Creek Cemetery. A celebration of Mrs. McCrary’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or your favorite charity.

Kathleen McInnis Sweat, 96, of Waverly died Saturday at the Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Mrs. Sweat, a native of Brooks County, moved to Waverly in 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick. Mrs. Sweat was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Edward Sweat.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Music Funeral Home in Waycross.
Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include five daughters, Eloise McCrary of Brunswick, Merle Kimbrell of Waverly, Ruth Lopez of High Springs, Fla., Linda Strickland of Scottsboro, Ala., and Vivian Ragan of Atlanta; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
