    STATESBORO - James Milton Findley, 93, died Wednesday.

    Survivors: wife, Dorothy Saturday Findley; daughters, Linda Currie, Carol (Jim) and Susan (Jim) Newman, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    A graveside funeral service and burial will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

    Obituary for Mr. James Milton Findley
    James Milton Findley

    James Milton Findley age 93 died peacefully Wednesday August 24, 2011, at Heritage Inn in Statesboro, GA.

    He was born in Collins, GA, the son of John Mallie and Ketter Clements Findley. He graduated from Collins High School in 1935.

    He served in World War II in the Unite States Army with the 10th Port of Embarkation in the European Theatre of Operation, to include the Sicilian and Rome-Arno campaigns.

    He retired after 33 years of service with the Excelsior Electric Cooperative. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, John Mallie and Ketter Clements Findley; and five brothers and three sisters.

    Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Saturday Findley of Statesboro, GA; daughters, Linda Currie of Auburn, AL; Carol (Jim) of Kansas City, MO; and Susan (Jim) Newman of Clinton, MS; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    He resided at Gentilly Gardens where he was loved and cared for by a wonderful staff. His last two weeks were spent at Heritage Inn. To those special caretakers we are deeply grateful.

    In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to your favorite charity.

    A graveside funeral service and burial will be held at Bulloch Memorial Gardens Friday August 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
