    Vidalia - Mr. John Hinton Hudson, Sr. age, 84, of 1101 Meadows Lane, Vidalia died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in the Precious Care Home in Vidalia after a brief illness.

    He was a native of Sumter County, living in Vidalia for the last thirty eight years, was a Merchant Marine in World War II, was a retired conductor with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad, a member of the American Legion and was an avid outdoorsman.

    Hudson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark S. and Cindy Hudson of Vidalia, John H., Sr. and Betsy Hudson of Marietta; one sister, Ina H. Wilson of Leslie; four grandchildren, Michael and Mandy Hudson of Vidalia, J.D. and Susanna Hudson of Marietta and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services for Mr. John Hinton Hudson, Sr. will be held Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moye officiating.

    Interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
