Funeral services for Ruth Glynn Brown Holcomb "Granny", age 96, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, June 19, 2009 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Mr. Steve Handley officiating.
Burial will follow at McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield.
Mrs. Holcomb passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Jacksonville.
She was born October 13, 1912 in Cherokee County, TX to J. T. Brown and Bevie Dotson Brown.Mrs. Holcomb was a member of Corinth Road Church of Christ, was a retired social worker at Rusk State Hospital and member of Craft-Turney Water Board.
She is preceded in death by her 1st husband Sherill Arnwine, 2nd husband Maurice Holcomb and sisters Marjorie Farley and Cleo Parsons.
Survivors include nephew Wayne Parsons and wife Vickie, great-niece Stacy Oberle and husband Daniel, great-great nieces Emma, Eliza and Ella and great-niece Kim Nabors and husband Jay; nephew Roger Parsons, great niece Cory Kelly, great-great nephew Colton Kelly; son John Holcomb and wife Nikki, grandson Billy Holcomb and wife Sandy, great grandchildren Jessica and Gracie, grandson Mike Holcomb, great-great grandson Ryan Holcomb; granddaughter Michelle Holcomb, great-granddaughter Christie Thompson and great-grandson John Thompson; and daughter Jane Holcomb, grandson J. K. Holman, great grandchildren Sarah Holman, Christian Holman and Jesse Holman, grandson Kris Holman and wife Patti, great- granddaughter Brandy Bannister and husband Brandon, great-great granddaughter Kali Jo, great- grandsons K. C. Holman and wife Cortney and Justin Holman; Trent Tacker and wife Michelle, great-great grandchildren Jenna, Abby, Jack and Kadi; and Granny also claimed every friend or child who ever put their feet under her table. We all have been blessed with the love she has given each one of us.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Arnwine, William Arnwine, K. C. Holman, Justin Holman, Jesse Holman and Charles Yarbrough.
Honorary pallbearer will be Colton Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
