    Mr. Rhymer died Friday, October 1, 1999. Born in Winnsboro, July 26, 1949, he was a son of William E. Rhymer Sr. and Lillian Wilkes Rhymer. He was a retired steam fitter, a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and graduate of Winnsboro High School.

    Surviving are his parents, William E. and Lillian Wilkes Rhymer of Winnsboro; daughter, Katrina Nicole Rhymer of Houston, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, William E. Rhymer Jr. and Shirley Bennett Rhymer, both of Greenville; nephews, Scott Rhymer and Michael Rhymer; nieces, Lacey Rhymer; grand-niece, Taylor Rhymer.

    WINNSBORO - Services for William Eugene Rhymer Sr., 77, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stephen Greene Baptist Church with the Rev. Taylor Wells and the Rev. James Blackwelder officiating. Burial will follow in Stephen Greene Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Pope Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Stephen Greene Baptist Church Table and Chair Fund, 500 7th. St., Winnsboro, SC 29180.

    Mr. Rhymer died Saturday, January 18, 2003. Born April 29, 1925 in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late William K. Rhymer and Roxie Douglas Rhymer. He had retired from Uniroyal. He attended Stephen Greene Baptist Church and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

    Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lillian Wilkes Rhymer of the home; son and daughter-in-law, William E. "Gene" Rhymer Jr. and Shirley Bennett Rhymer of Greenville; grandchildren, Scott and wife, Ann Rhymer, Michael and Lacy Rhymer, all of Greenville and Katrina Rhymer of Michigan; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Megan Rhymer of Greenville; brother, Douglas Rhymer of Winnsboro; sister, Fannie Rhymer Locklair of Winnsboro. He was predeceased by a son, Floyd Wilkes Rhymer.

    Funeral services for Lillian Wilkes Rhymer, 89, will be held 3:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2015 at Stephen Greene Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Mickey Cockrell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm at Pope Funeral Home.

    Born in Winnsboro on October 14, 1925, Lillian was the daughter of the late Robert Walter and Irene Douglas Wilkes. She was an avid quilter and cook who loved serving others and her church.

    Survivors include one son, William E. “Gene” Rhymer, Jr. (Shirley) of Greenville; two sisters, Georgie Branham and Essie Swearingen of Winnsboro; eight grandchildren, Scott Rhymer (Ann), Michael Rhymer (Amy), Lacey Cobb (Matt), Katrina Rhymer, and Natalie Buck; and nine great grandchildren, Taylor and Megan Rhymer, Callie and Cayden Rhymer, Carson and Ethan Cobb, Koby Rhymer, and Kyle and Kameron Buck.

    In addition to her parents and husband, William E. Rhymer, Sr., she is predeceased by one son, Floyd Wilkes Rhymer; six brothers, Earl Wilkes, Faye Wilkes, Thomas Wilkes, Leslie Wilkes, Robert Wilkes, and Gene Wilkes; and one sister, Louise Wilkes Lewis.

    The family would like to thank Fairfield Health Care and Pathway Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stephen Greene Baptist Church, 500 Seventh Street, Winnsboro SC 29180.
