    WARNER ROBINS - Thomas E. Lendrum, 82, of Warner Robins died Friday, February 28, 2003 at a local hospital following a prolonged illness. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Father Fred Nijem will officiate.

    Mr. Lendrum, a native of Aurora, IL, was the son of the late Thomas E. Lendrum and the late Ellen Dressel Lendrum Schoeberlein. Raised and educated in Illinois, he moved to Warner Robins in 1958. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mr. Lendrum was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight. He was also a former member of the Aurora, IL Moose Lodge.

    A retired United States Air Force (USAF) Master Sergeant, he was a former member of the 58th Military Airlift Squadron and 420th Air Refueling Squadron. His distinguished career included Line Engineer, Flight Instructor, and Flight Engineer assignments on B-29s, B-50s, C-124s and C141s for a total of 8500 hours on world-wide military supply operations. His military career began in the United States Navy in 1941 and he served in the South Pacific during World War II. In September of 1948 he enlisted in the USAF. A decorated combat veteran, he also served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.

    Following his retirement from the USAF in 1968, he was employed by Robins Air Force Base Civil Service as an Electronics Technician were he worked on aircraft avionics. In 1982 he fully retired to enjoy hobbies as one of the worlds greatest Georgia Bulldog fans and bird watching.

    Survivors include his wife: Anna Marie Lendrum of Warner Robins. Daughters; Marianna Collins of Raleigh, NC, Sheri and her husband Joe Greene of Montgomery, AL, and Lori and her husband Jimmy Long of Macon. Brother; Paul Schoeberlein of Carlsbad, CA. Grandchildren; Trey Long of Macon and Rachel Collins-Harley of Raleigh, NC.

    A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the funeral home with a time of visitation to follow.
