Mrs. Arvie Hurst Greene, 93 of Jacksonville, Florida died Saturday March 28, 2009 at Haven Hospice of Suwannee Valley in Lake City, Florida. Born in Union County, Florida, Mrs. Greene lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Emily Vining Hurst. She retired from the United States Civil Services Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Greene was a very talented seamstress. She was a member of the Murray Hill Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. She served as an Elder and Women of the Church as well as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Riverside Chapter Order of the Easter Star #218. Mrs. Greene is preceded in death by her husband Reuben Greene
She is survived by a special great niece and family, Pam, Jay Jason, Brian, Jeniffer and Keri Parrish, and a large loving family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 2, 2009 in the Murray Hill Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. in Memorial Cemetery in Lake City, Florida. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday evening April 1, 2009 from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home.
