COLUMBIA - Memorial services for Theresa Fincher Wilkes, 73, will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 11, 2006, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at their home, 100 Timbertrace Ct., Columbia. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 525 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
Mrs. Wilkes died Sunday, July 9, 2006. Born in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late Newton A. and Anne VanHassel Fincher. She was a homemaker, the owner of The Sewing Box, a manufacturer's representative, a buyer for Belk Department Store, and in her retirement, a Master Gardener. She was a member of the Lexington Master Gardeners, Coldstream Garden Club, The Lunch Bunch and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Surviving are her husband, Joe A. Wilkes of Irmo; children and their spouses Tara and Rick Richter of Simpsonville, SC; Susan and Thom Freeland of Simpsonville, SC; Dixon and Susan Wilkes of Fort Worth, TX; sister and her husband, Jerine F. and Tillman Smith of Chapin; and grandchildren, Chad, Anna, Nicole, Michael, KerriAnn, Tucker, Christopher, Jake and Sarah.
