LAKELAND -- Mr. Joseph C. Redding of Lakeland died of cancer Monday (Oct. 21, 2002) at home. He was 77.
Born in Archdale, N.C., on Sept. 27, 1925, he came to Lakeland from Miami in 1993. He was a retired Air Force veteran, having served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Masons and the FMCA Camping Club. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Caldonia, Miss. He was a member of First Untied Methodist Church in Lakeland.
Mr. Redding is survived by his wife, Nina W. Redding; daughters, Carolyn D. Jordan, Monroe, Ga., Donna F. White, Lakeland, and Teresa L. Eldredge, Sebring; sisters, Peggy Davis and Betty Morgan, both of Kernersville, N.C., and Bobbie Scruggs, High Point, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be Thursday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
