Justine Rutledge Wheeler,82, a resident of Lake City, Columbia, Florida died Monday,March 21, 1994 at the Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was a native of Lee County, Florida and resided in Columbia County for 25 years. She was the daughter of Strauther and Umiah Bailey Rutledge and was employeed by the Bradford County School System for 30 years as a teacher. Mrs. Wheeler graduated from Florida State College for Women where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. She also attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the Lake City Church of God, the Lake City Garden Club,the Starke Women's Club, the Retired Teachers Association, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Milton Wheeler of Lake City; one son, Frederick J. Pellum, of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Caroline Bolar of Homer, Alaska and Patricia Cromer, of Columbus, Georgia; one brother, Aubrey Rutledge of Ft. Myers, Lee, Florida; one sister, Iris Stinson of Lehigh Acres,Florida, and four grandchildren.
