During the evening of October 17, 2021, Merilee Holgate Bloomfield, passed away peacefully in her home, in Kirtland, NM, at the age of 64.

Merilee was born in Houston, TX on July 31, 1957 to Delos Wimberly & Elizabeth Holloway. She was adopted at 3 days old by her parents, Leon & Mazie Holgate. Merilee was the beloved wife, of Gary Lee Bloomfield. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple on September 2, 1977 and enjoyed 44 wonderful years together.

Merilee was the beloved mother of 5 children, Katia Lee Bloomfield (Deceased), Kailee Mae (Cory James), Nicholas G. (Sunshine Touchin), Noel M. (Dustin Parsons) & Aurora Ocean (Lenard McKenzie). She was the beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Katie McKenna Parsons, Jamie Lynn Parsons, Corbin Dustin Parsons, Macy Lee Parsons, Tanner Ray James, Aiden Cory James, Mearon Jay McKenzie, & London Belle McKenzie. She was the beloved sister to Jim (Diane) Holgate, Gary (Lisa) Wimberly, Sherry (Patrick) Krepps.

Merilee was preceded in death by her parents, Leon & Mazie Holgate & her first child, Katia Bloomfield.

Merilee was a genuine, compassionate person, who loved to serve others and actively participated in the many aspects of the lives of her siblings, children and grandchildren. She was a life-long, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, who actively participated, by holding numerous service-related callings. Merilee was a Disney fanatic, and her most cherished moments in life were spent with her family in numerous family gatherings, and on numerous family vacations to Disneyland and Disney World.

Everyone who had the privilege and blessing of knowing her, know how special she was, and how much she will be missed, a truly genuine person in a fallen world.

Her viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 @ 8:30 AM (Family only), followed by her funeral service @ 10:00 AM, at the Old Kirtland LDS Chapel, located at 473 CR 6100, Kirtland, NM; and will then be laid to rest at the Kirtland/Fruitland Cemetery.

Jay E. Bloomfield passed away peacefully in his home on August 30th, 2022.

He was born in Kirtland, NM to Alexander Findley and Nina (Bond) Bloomfield on July 14, 1925.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Owen, George, Melvin, Mae, Don, Reah, Glen, Arlin, his wife Mary (Nielson) Bloomfield, his daughter in law Merilee Bloomfield, his granddaughter Katia Lee Bloomfield, his great granddaughter Shelby Lynn Sorensen, and his great-great grandson Liam Garner Wheatley.

He is survived by his children Wesley (Larcy), David (Dawn), Robert (Brenda), Dwayne (Janae), Gary (Merilee deceased), and Neil (Jennifer). Jay had 30 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren with 1 on the way.

Jay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He worked as a mechanic in Alaska for 9 months and retired from the Navajo Coal Mine. He loved to fish, garden, and repair vehicles. He loved his children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew him.

In short Jay was a master mechanic, a simple and genuine man, with a beautiful soul and heart of gold.

On September 5th, 2022, there will be a memorial service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 473 Co Rd 6100 Kirtland NM 87417 from 4 to 5pm followed by the dedication of the grave at the Kirtland/Fruitland Cemetery at 6pm. All are welcome to attend.

Louise Milton Nielson

Louise M. Nielson, 97, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, October 11, 2006. She was born in Lake City, Florida on July 9, 1909 to Augustus and Laura Eveline Waldron Milton. She attended schools in Florida and moved to Arizona to marry George Edward Nielson in 1929. Shortly after her marriage, they moved to White River Indian Reservation to work for the Indian Services. She was the mother of three children and grandmother to twelve grandchildren. She was known for her love of animals, her genealogy work, and her skills in painting and sewing.

After her husband died in 1973, Louise lived between Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah with family members. She loved to meet new people and tell stories of her history and the information she discovered in her genealogy work. Louise was a hard worker and taught everyone she met about the value of hard work. She would always say that "Life was her education", stressing the importance of hard work in her life.

She is survived by a son, Milton Nielson, of Arizona; her caretakers, Melvin Kessinger (son-in-law); Barbara Kessinger (Step daughter-in-law); and Eliza Kessinger, granddaughter; a son in law, Jay Bloomfield, New Mexico; three sisters, Marguarite Marton; Jackie Winton; and Marie Wheeler, all of Florida, 10 grand sons, 2 granddaughters, many great- grandchildren, and a few great- great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughters, Mary Bloomfield, New Mexico; and Ellouise Kessinger, Utah.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork. Family and friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m., or on Monday morning from 8:45 - 9:45 prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.
