    William "Hal" Howell Stuart, age 65, of Lake City, Florida passed away on February 23, 2022, at Lake City Medical Center.

    He was born August 15, 1956, in Lake City, Florida to the late John Broward Stuart, Sr. and Eva Rhetta Beasley Stuart.

    Hal was a lifelong resident of Lake City. He was an auto mechanic by trade and enjoyed working on cars as well as racing them. Hal was an NHRA and NASCAR enthusiast. After work his favorite pass time was hanging out with friends at the Santa Fe River.

    Hal was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Broward "J.B." Stuart, Jr.; and grandson Damien Kornegay.

    Hal is survived by his daughter, Misty (Keith) Kornegay of Alachua, FL; siblings, Sylvia Williams of Lake City, FL, Freddie Stuart of Okeechobee, FL, Sandra Horne of Branford, FL, Eleanor (Joe) Sweat of Jacksonville, FL, Nancy Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Susan (Don) Church of Lake City, Fl; grandchildren, Ariel, Nicole, and Brie Kornegay; mother of his child, Jo Ann Pittman of Lake City, FL.

    A Celebration of Hal's Life will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Ferreira Funeral Services.

    Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Eva Beasley Stuart, 92, of Lake City, died Wednesday morning, May 21, 2008, in the Suwannee Health Care Center following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Columbia County, Mrs. Stuart was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Douberly Beasley. Mrs. Stuart had been a homemaker and was a member of the Columbia City Home Demonstration Club and was active in the "Country Kitchen Band" as long as her health allowed. Her spare time was spent tending to the flowers in her yard, farming and raking leaves. She did not tolerate leaves in her yard even when she became confined to a wheelchair. Mrs. Stuart was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, John Broward Stuart, Sr. and a son, John Broward Stuart Jr..

    Mrs. Stuart is survived by two sons, James "Freddie" Stuart of Okeechobee, Florida; Howell Stuart of Lake City, Florida; five daughters, Sylvia Williams (Hal) of Lake City; Sandra Horne (Corbett) of Gilchrist County, Florida; Eleanor Sweat (George) Jacksonville, Florida; Nancy Johnson, Jacksonville, Florida; and Susan Church (Don) Ft. Pierce, Florida. Nineteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Stuart will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 24, 2008 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with President Matthew C. Forsyth officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7:00 Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley, 6037 US Highway 90 West, Lake City, Florida 32055.
