    Charles Darrell Summers, 67 of Branford, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Lake City Medical Center in Lake City. He was born and raised in Lake City and had been a longtime resident of Branford. Darrell was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1972 and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Branford Ward. He was passionate about his work as a hunting guide with Chinquapin Farms in Branford for over 40 years. Darrell served many years as President of the Suwannee River Riding Club in Branford. He was an advocate for the Rodeoing and enjoyed Barrel Racing with his daughters, granddaughter and many youth thru the years. Darrell loved life itself, but more than that, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
    Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Charles Leslie Summers; and one brother, Brett Summers.

    Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jonita Hamlin Summers, Branford; his mother, Patsy Bagley Summers, Lake City; his two daughters, Jessica Lea Summers (Tim McGraw), Lake City and Jennifer Lynn Summers Charles (Thorne), Branford; his brother, Darren Summers (Pam), Lake City; five sisters, Patti Brown (Sonny), Worthington Springs, Denise Stewart (Larry), Branford, Dorinda Akers (Russell), Old Town, Sonya Anderson (Joey), Old Town and Tonya Byrd (Dale), Branford; three grandchildren, Reagan McGraw, Trenton Charles and Janya Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

    Graveside funeral services for Darrell will be conducted on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Union County. Interment will follow. A walk thru visitation for the community will be held on Friday evening, August 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and will also be available via face book live by visiting Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Face book. For family and friends attending the services, social distancing is requested for the safety of everyone. A celebration of life for Darrell will be announced at a later date at the Rodeo Arena in Branford.     Charles Leslie Summers of Lake City, FL died on January 13, 2018 in Gainesville, FL after a lengthy illness. He was 81 years old.

    Mr. Summers was born on August 4, 1936 in Lulu, Florida to Fred J. and Bertie Mae Lee Summers. He attended school in Mason City and Fort White. He married Patsy Bagley in 1953, they were married for 64 years, 5 months, and 6 days. He worked as a surveyor for Bennett Wattles & Associates. Later Charles retired from L.L. Lee/Donald Lee & Associates and dedicated the remainder of his life to fishing and family.

    Mr. Summers is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertie Mae Summers; brother and sister, Robert and Joyce Summers; son, Brett Leslie Summers; and grandson, Joseph Leslie Sumerlin.

    Patsy Ramona Bagley Summers, 83 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville with her family by her side.

    She was born on October 7, 1937 in Providence, Florida to the late Clarence Bagley and Eunice Williams Bagley and had been a longtime resident of Lake City. Mrs. Summers was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was attending the Price Creek Ward in Lake City. Through the years, Sister Summers held many callings in the church. She was full of compassionate service and truly loved serving others in many ways, especially by cooking her chicken and rice. Mrs. Summers was a loving mother and example to her children, a wonderful mother-in-law and a second mother to all of her children’s friends through the years.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Charles Leslie Summers; two sons, Brett Summers in December 1978 and Darrell Summers, August 2021; one grandson, Leslie Summerlin; and two brothers, Roy D. Bagley and Louis Bagley.

    Survivors include her children, Patti Brown (Sonny), Worthington Springs; Denise Stewart (Larry), Branford, Dorinda Akers (Russell), Old Town, Darren Summers (Pam), Lake City, Sonya Anderson (Joey), Old Town, Tonya Byrd (Dale), Branford; daughter-in-law, Jonita Summers, Branford; two sisters, Betty Jane Joyner, Ormond Beach and Geraldine Roberts (Jim), Branford; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Bagley, Branford, Betty Joyce Bagley, Haines City and Janice Summers, Lake City; special friends, Bascom Beville, Branford and Jeff and Rubye Smedley, Lake City; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

    Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Union County. Interment will follow. A walk through visitation for the community will be Sunday afternoon, August 29, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home and will also be available via face book live by visiting Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Face book. For family and friends attending the services, social distancing is requested for the safety of everyone.
