    DUBLIN - Mr. Charles Henry Carnes, Jr. age 63 passed away Sunday morning November 25, 2012 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Ga.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services with President Willie Cooper officiating.

    Interment service will be held at noon at Andersonville National Cemetery at the Rostrum.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m unitl 8 p.m. Tuesday evening November 27, 2012.

    Pallbearers will be Richard Carnes, Mason Smith, Scott Lewis, Greg Carnes, Gary Carnes and Richard Smith.

    Mr. Carnes was born January 26, 1949 in Cordele, Ga. the son of C.H. Carnes and Ruby Magadelene Walls Carnes, whom survive him.

    He was a Custodian at the National Parks Service in Andersonville, Ga. and a Design Engineer for Aircraft. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam era.

    Mr. Carnes is survived by his beloved wife Crystal Green Carnes of Andersonville, Ga. mother and father Ruby Magadelene Walls Carnes and C. H. Carnes of Andersonville, Ga. three daughters and sons-in-law: Laurie Lewis and Scott of Albany, Ga. Joy Smith and Mason of Tazewell, Ga. and Amy Lewis and Mark of Statesboro, Ga. a son Richard Carnes of Albany, Ga.; two sisters and a brother-in-law Brenda Coffman and Roger of Americus, Ga. and Tracy Carnes of Andersonville, Ga.; two brothers and sisters-in-law Greg Carnes and Frances of Desoto, Ga. Gary Carnes and Bonnie of Leslie, Ga. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren Megan Lewis, Samuel Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Natalie Lewis, Richard Carnes, Jr. Nikki Carnes, Casey Carnes, Destiny Carnes, Shelby Smith, Jade Smith, Michael Lewis, Samantha Lewis and Sally Ann Lewis.
