Died:
Mrs. Shirley Wynette Norris, 68 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.

She was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was the eighth of nine children to the late Jim and Lizzie Feagle Rowe. Mrs. Norris was currently attending Evangel Church of God and when she was younger she attended the North Lake City Church of God.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and growing flowers. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Horace, Charlie, Wilbur and J.C. Rowe and brother in law, Eldridge Bundy.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jerry Norris, Lake City; one son, Thomas Sherrod (Tammy), Starke; one daughter, Mary Petty (Richard), Lake City; one brother, Allen Rowe (Peggy), Lake City; one sister, Pat Bundy, Lake City; four sisters-in-law, Otha Rowe, Tifton, GA, Annette Johnson, Lake City, Pat Rowe, Florida and Laura Rowe, Lake City; eight grandchildren, Christy Powell (Marlin), Folkston, GA, Kurtis Norris, Lake City, Matthew Sherrod, Thomasville, GA, Lizzie Sherrod, Starke, David and Destiny Petty both of Lake City and Mandy and Becky Melton both of Starke; and three great-grandchildren, Brody, Bailey and Bryer Powell all of Folkston, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Evangel Church of God with Pastor John R. Hathaway officiating.

Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lola Rhymer Norris, 92, of Lake City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday afternoon August 20, 2010, in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley. Mrs. Norris was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. She was born at Benton, a turpentine settlement in the Northern area of the County, on January 2, 1918 to the late Raymond & Organ Robinson Rhymer. Mrs. Norris met and married her late husband of fifty-six years, Davis Norris and together they had seven children. Mrs. Norris was a homemaker and very much enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Norris was a longtime member of the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary Ann Norris and a great-grand daughter, Angie Register.

She is survived by her children, Alice & Ray Cheshire; Jerry & Shirley Norris; John David & Jackie Norris; Carolyn & George Moseley; Jane & Edward Ritch all of Lake City and Evelyn & Albert Register of LaCrosse, Florida; and a brother, Sellers Rhymer of Chillacothe, Ohio. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery (located off of US 441 North at the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church). The family will receive friends in the chapel of the funeral home from 5-7:00 Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley 6037 US Highway 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.
