    Mrs. Luvada Griffin Cason, 95, of Waycross died Friday morning at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Brantley County to the late Ruel Griffin and Minnie Davis Griffin. Mrs. Cason has made Waycross her home for most of her life. She retired as secretary from Farm Credit Services after many years of service. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Merrymakers and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Mrs. Cason enjoyed playing canasta with her family and friends, she took pride in her yards and made sure they were well kept and loved serving the Lord.

    Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earlish W. Cason, a daughter, Carolyn Prevatt, a son-in-law, Charles Prevatt, and four sisters, Ruby Jacobs, Amy Jacobs, Leona Amundson, and Iva Cook.

    She is survived by a son, Bill Cason and his wife Gwen of Blackshear, a daughter, Elizabeth Peacock and her husband Jerry of Blackshear, four grandchildren, Joey Prevatt and his wife Cheryl of Waycross, Chris Prevatt and his wife Teresa of Waycross, Joanna King of Jacksonville, Florida, Brianna King of Blackshear, three great grandchildren, Haley Prevatt, Bryce Prevatt, Tyler Prevatt, two sisters, Christine Dryden of Hoboken, Mary Crews of Hoboken, a sister-in-law, Avienell Cason of Baxley, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Luvada Griffin Cason will be held 3 p.m., Sunday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home.
