DURHAM - Mr. Millard B. "Slug" McAllister Jr., 79, of 2318 Wintergreen Place, passed on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife Annie B. McAllister; two sons G. Tracy McAllister and Tory Young; three daughters, Patricia Jackson, Janice Lowry and Gloria Blue; and two sisters, Patricia Heggins and Barbara Lassiter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at noon at New Metropolitian Faith Winners Baptist Church, 1509 Riddle Rd., Durham. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11 to noon prior to the service. Arrangements by Scarborough & Hargett Funeral Home, Inc.

Durham, North Carolina - Mrs. Annie Black McAllister, 82, of Alston Heights and formerly of Walltown, died Saturday, December 12, 2020.

Her graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Beechwood Cemetery, 3300 Fayetteville St.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 11:30am - 12:00pm prior to the service.

There is a public viewing at Burthey Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 1:30pm - 7:00pm.

Mrs. McAllister is a 1955 Hillside graduate and a member of New Metropolitan Faith Winners Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Janice Lowry(James) and son Gregory McAllister(Serita).

DURHAM -- Sarah Pittman Black, 87, of 3305 Courtland Drive, died July 19, 2006, at Duke Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. The funeral will be held at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church, 1515 W. Club Blvd., with the Rev. Corey Little officiating. The body will lie in state from noon to 1 p.m. and burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann B. McAllister (Milliard McAllister) and Shirley B. Young, of Durham, and Mildred B. Nichols, from Oceanside, Calif.; two sons, Fred D. Black Jr. (Barbara), of Nitro, Va., Melvin Black (Toni), of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Cooper, Eula Pittman, Gloria P. Johnson; two brothers, Louis Pittman Sr. and Alton Pittman; daughter-in-law, Alma Black, of Fayetteville; one aunt, Annie Pittman, all of Red Springs; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
