    Died:
    Mrs. Sally Wilkes, age 83, died peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her home after a short illness.

    She was a Bulloch County native and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Wilkes was a loving mother and grandmother who loved flowers and fishing. She retired from ITT Grinnell on February 2, 1988, as an inspector in the machine shop.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Starling and Beulah "Ma" Brown Aldrich; her husband, Delbert Wilkes; and two brothers, Freddie Aldrich and Burton "Bo" Aldrich.

    Memories are left to be cherished by her two daughters, Ruby (Charles) McDonald of Pembroke and Vera (James) Bunch of Rocky Ford; and her son, Billy (Wanda Faye) Fanning of Brooklet; two sisters, Eliza Mae McCollough and Myrtie Hearne, both of Pembroke; nine grandchildren, Eubie Cook, Johnny Muns, Marie Glisson, Deloris Bunch, Frank Bunch, Floyd Bunch, Tony Fanning, Pam Allen and Paula Montti; four stepchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

    The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse France officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Allen Wilkes, Aaron Barnard, Franklin Bunch, Brandon Conner, Jimmy Jenkins and Jason Martin.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Cook, Johnny Muns and Tony Fanning.

    Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
