    Mr. James Robert Thomas, 48, of Lake City died Sunday morning, December 23, 2007, at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City following a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of Lake City, Mr. Thomas was an excellent craftsman making cabinets and furniture, and loved motorcycles. Mr. Thomas was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father Edward L. Thomas in 1976.

    Mr. Thomas is survived by three sons, James Robert Thomas, II, James Brandon Thomas, and John Edward Thomas all of Lake City; four daughters, Alicia Oleane Williams (Shawn), Alabama, Sarah Thomas, Kayla Thomas, and Jessica Brady (Travis); his mother, Catherine Thomas Dicks; grandmother, Eleonor Eckert; one brother, Edward Thomas, Jr. four sisters, Joyce Cheshire (Russell), Nancy Royals (Eugene), Sandra Cook (Larry), and Becky Powers (Gene) all of Lake City; four grandchildren also survive.

    Graveside funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be conducted Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery on HWY 100 in Lake City with Marion Powell officiating. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00-2:30 Wednesday afternoon before the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center 6037 Highway 90 West, Lake City, FL 32025.     Mr. Edward Leroy Thomas Jr, 76, passed away in the late afternoon hours, on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at his residence in Lake City, Florida.

    Mr. Thomas was born July 3, 1943, in Lake City, to Catherine Elinor Kidd and the late Edward Leroy Thomas Sr. He was preceded in death by a brother: James Thomas

    Mr. Thomas, a veteran of the United States Army, completed two tours of duty in the Vietnam War with the 82nd and 101st Airborne.

    He had worked with the VA as a cook and was of the Baptist faith. Edward was an avid collector of stamps, coins, and knives.

    He is survived by his mother: Catherine Dicks; one son: Robert; two daughters: Debbie & Cathy; four sisters: Sandra Cook and her husband Larry, Joyce Cheshire and her husband Russell, Nancy Royals and her husband Eugene, and Rebecca Thomas; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Memorialization was by Cremation.
